- Wajahdars
- Under Firuz Shah Tughlaq (1351-1388), troops who were paid their salaries through assignments were called wajahdars as opposed to those who were paid cash or in drafts on the revenues of the provinces. By the time Babur established himself at Agra (1526), the term had come to connote the assignment holders in gen-eral.
